The Projeto Viveiro (Nursery Project) was created and implanted in the mining complex in Corumbá with the aim of preserving native and endangered species.

To date, 14,146 thousand native seedlings and 550 rescued propagules have been produced - cells that are detached from an adult plant to order to give rise to a new one. We have seedlings of species such as: White Ipê (Tebebuia roseoalba), Green Ipê (Cybistax antisyphilitica), Yellow Ipê (Handroanthus ochraceus) and Jatobá (Hymenaea courbaril).

In July 2022, we implanted our first recovery plan of a degraded area at Fazenda Riacho do Urucum, covering 0.27 hectares of plant reconfiguration in a remaining seasonal forest on the western edge of the Pantanal.

Focused on the preservation and recovery of an area with rainwater drainage rich in biodiversity, the plan was led by the Environment team, reinforcing the company’s commitment towards sustainability and environmental preservation. The plan includes topographical reconfiguration and the planting of 787 seedlings of native species, all from adjacent areas and cultivated in the company’s own nursery.

3A carries out the monitoring and rescue of wild animals that may suffer from direct impacts during the company’s operations, playing a crucial role in the preservation of ecosystems.

With the aim of preserving the fauna in Mato Grosso do Sul, the Rescue of Fauna not only complies with legal obligations, but also highlights the importance of 3A’s environmental conservation and socio-environmental actions, thus contributing to the mitigation of the impacts of 3A’s activities on the fauna and ensuring its long-term survival.
